Glenn Taylor Jr. Named to Preseason Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Watch List

St. John’s junior is one of four BIG EAST players selected to the preseason watch list by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's junior forward Glenn Taylor Jr. was one of 20 players named to the Preseason Julius Erving Small Forward Watch List, as announced by Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Taylor Jr. is the first Johnnie to earn a spot on the preseason watch list for small forwards since former Red Storm standout and current San Antonio Spur Julian Champagnie earned the recognition in 2021.
The Oregon State transfer will look to make an immediate impact for the Red Storm after playing two seasons for the Beavers. The 2022 Pac-12 All-Freshman team selection made 62 appearances at Oregon State, averaging 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
In his final regular-season game with the Beavers, Taylor Jr. set career highs with 28 points while shooting 15-for-16 from the free-throw line. The Las Vegas native produced two of his three career double-doubles during his sophomore campaign, logging 14 points and 12 boards against Colorado (Jan. 28), followed by an 18-point, 10-rebound showing against USC (Feb. 11).

The list will be narrowed down to 10 in late January, with plans to announce the final five in late March. The winner of this award, as well as presentation details, will be announced towards the end of the season.
