St. John’s Athletics Launches New Basketball Line with Local Hoops

Red Storm collaborates with New York City-based brand on new apparel and product line
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's Athletic Department and New York City-based Local Hoops, in conjunction with CLC, the nation's leading collegiate licensing company, announced on Thursday the launch of a special collection with custom designs inspired by the Red Storm's "We Are New York's Team" brand campaign.
The exclusive line was created through a collaboration between St. John's Basketball and Local Hoops, merging the Johnnies' basketball roots in NYC with the community-oriented organization's unique brand identity. This special collection features a range of products, including custom t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, and basketballs.
The collection is currently available at the St. John's University bookstore, RedStormShop.com and the official website of Local Hoops. Product will also be available at Madison Square Garden on Saturday when St. John's hosts Providence at 12 p.m. A Local Hoops brand store at 325 Canal Street in Manhattan will also carry the new St. John's Basketball line, beginning Thursday for a limited time.

Boasting the ninth-most victories all-time in NCAA Division I, St. John's has recorded 89 winning seasons in its storied 116-year history. With 29 NCAA Tournament appearances in program history, the Red Storm has made nine runs to the Sweet 16, advanced to the Elite Eight six times and made a pair of trips to the Final Four in 1952 and 1985. St. John's postseason success also includes an unprecedented five National Invitation Tournament titles and 29 appearances in the NIT.
St. John's Women's Basketball
Since its inception in 1974, the St. John's women's basketball program has tallied over 800 victories, 32 winning seasons and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. St. John's notched its best postseason finish in program history, when it advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2011-12. This season, the Red Storm got off to its best start in program history, winning its first 13 games and spent multiple weeks ranked nationally. Additionally, the Johnnies smashed another program record with 13 consecutive wins inside Carnesecca Arena.
