St. John’s to Meet Boston College in NABC Brooklyn Showcase at Barclays Center

Red Storm and Eagles to Square Off on Dec. 10 in Brooklyn
QUEENS, N.Y. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the matchups for the 2023 NABC Brooklyn Showcase at Barclays Center on Dec. 10. The St. John's men's basketball team is set to square off with Boston College as part of a quadruple header that also features Miami (Fla.) – Colorado, Fordham – North Texas, and Temple – Albany. The Johnnies and Eagles will be the third game of the day with tip-off slated for 4:30 p.m.
Tickets for the NABC Brooklyn Showcase go on sale via Ticketmaster and the Barclays Center Box Office via presale on Tuesday. A general public sale is set for Wednesday when St. John's fans can secure seats in the Red Storm sections by clicking here.
Television broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.
One of St. John's most frequently played opponents, the Red Storm will take on the Eagles for the 74th time in series history. St. John's owns a 46-27 record against its former BIG EAST opponent, including a 9-3 advantage in neutral site games.
In their last meeting, St. John's battled Boston College to the bitter end, staving off a late second half run to earn a 97-93 victory at Mohegan Sun Arena on Nov. 30, 2020. Current San Antonio Spur and former Red Storm standout Julian Champagnie went off for 29 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
The Red Storm will also make its 11th appearance inside Barclays Center, logging an 8-2 mark in Brooklyn since the building's debut in 2012. The Johnnies have secured a pair of non-conference tournament titles on the Brooklyn Nets' home court, capturing the 2018 Legends Classic title and the 2022 Empire Classic championship.
Last season, St. John's took down Temple, 78-72, behind Montez Mathis' 16-point showing and a 15-point, 12-board outing from Joel Soriano to advance into the Empire Classic championship game against Syracuse. Soriano followed the performance by posting 19 points and 14 rebounds in the team's 76-69 overtime triumph over the Orange the next night.
