St. John’s Men’s Basketball to Debut “Rising Storm” Presented by Maspeth Federal Savings on Sept. 7

The four-part docu-series highlights the preseason under Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino and introduces members of the 2023-24 Red Storm roster.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's basketball program will release its four-part docu-series, "Rising Storm", presented by Maspeth Federal Savings, with episode one set to debut on Thursday, Sept. 7. The series is a collaboration between the St. John's athletic department and LEARFIELD Studios – LEARFIELD's original and branded content division.
"Rising Storm" will introduce St. John's fans to the members of the 2023-24 Red Storm roster as the Johnnies embark on their first season under Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino. St. John's had an unprecedented offseason that saw the program welcome 12 newcomers who join a pair of returnees, All-BIG EAST center Joel Soriano and Drissa Traore. "Rising Storm" documents summer workouts and goes behind the scenes with the Johnnies.
Episode one will feature Coach Pitino, Associate Head Coach Steve Masiello and veterans Sean Conway, Jordan Dingle and 2023 National Champion Nahiem Alleyne who all made their way to New York this offseason.
Episode two, set to debut on Sept. 14, will highlight building culture within the program while featuring the Red Storm's young, rising stars Brady Dunlap, Zuby Ejiofor, RJ Luis, Glenn Taylor Jr., and Simeon Wilcher.
Episode three will showcase the team's returnees, Soriano and Traore, and what it means for them to play college basketball in New York City at St. John's. The premiere of this episode is set for Sept. 21.
Episode four features Iona transfers, Sadiku Ibine Ayo, Cruz Davis and Daniss Jenkins, who committed to continuing their careers at St. John's under the program's new Hall of Fame head coach. It is set to launch on Sept. 28.
