Rick Pitino to Appear on FOX 5 “Sports Xtra” on Sunday

St. John’s Head Coach Talks Red Storm Basketball with Sports Xtra Host Tina Cervasio on Sunday at 10:30 P.M.
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino will make a television appearance to talk Red Storm Basketball on Sunday, Jan. 28 as a guest on Sports Xtra, which airs at 10:30 p.m. on FOX 5 (WNYW). Pitino will join Sports Xtra host Tina Cervasio for a sitdown interview in advance of St. John's upcoming contests versus Xavier on Wednesday at Cintas Center, followed by a matchup with No. 1/1 Connecticut next Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
Pitino has guided the Red Storm to a 13-7 overall record and its best start through nine BIG EAST games since the 2012-13 season with a 5-4 league mark. The Johnnies recently rolled past Villanova, 70-50, inside Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, earning its first season sweep of the Wildcats since the 1992-93 campaign.
The winningest active head men's basketball coach in Division I with 847 wins, Pitino is one of only six coaches all-time to advance to the Final Four on seven or more occasions. The Naismith Hall of Famer also became the first coach to take three different schools to the Final Four and the first coach to win an NCAA Championship at two different schools.
