St. John’s 6-foot-4 guard from Dallas averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 1-1 week

QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's graduate student Daniss Jenkins earned a spot on this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 point guard averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds, while posting a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio over two games last week. Jenkins also shot 51.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from distance versus DePaul and Marquette.

On Tuesday at UBS Arena, Jenkins tallied 14 points shooting 5-for-8 from the field with four 3-pointers in a 28-point victory over DePaul. Then on Saturday, the Dallas native registered a 22-point effort shooting 9-for-19 from the field with four triples at No. 7/7 Marquette. He also recorded six rebounds, six assists and two steals versus the Golden Eagles.

St. John's (14-10, 6-7) returns to action on Tuesday when the Johnnies visit Amica Mutual Pavilion for a 7 p.m. contest against Providence (15-9, 6-7). CBS Sports Network will carry the national telecast.
