St. John’s Head Coach Rick Pitino to Appear on Bleacher Report Live

QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Hall of Fame Head Coach Rick Pitino will make a guest appearance on Bleacher Report with national college basketball analyst Seth Davis for a live interview today at 1 p.m. Fans can watch the conversation on Bleacher Report's website by clicking here.

Pitino led the Red Storm to 20 wins in his first season at the helm in 2023-24. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer also led St. John's to its first BIG EAST Tournament semifinal since 2000 behind the elevated play of recent Detroit Piston signee Daniss Jenkins. Pitino has posted 854 career wins at the Division I level, the most among active head coaches at the NCAA's top level.

Pitino is prepared to embark on his second campaign with the Johnnies after welcoming in three former opponents-turned-Johnnies, including All-BIG EAST First Team selection Kadary Richmond, North Texas standout Aaron Scott and Utah product Deivon Smith, alongside former consensus top-15 center Vince Iwuchukwu from USC. The four transfers will also join incoming freshmen Jaiden Glover, Lefteris Liotopoulos, Khaman Maker and Rubén Prey.

Pitino will mesh the eight newcomers this season with five returning Johnnies from the 2023-24 squad, including Brady Dunlap, Zuby Ejiofor, Sadiku Ibine Ayo, RJ Luis Jr. and Simeon Wilcher.

St. John's will open the 2024-25 campaign on Nov. 4 when local foe Fordham makes its way to Queens. The two teams met last season at MSG Holiday Festival with the Johnnies emerging victorious, 77-55.
