Kadary Richmond Earns Second Straight BIG EAST Honor Roll Nod

Richmond averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game over 2-0 week
NEW YORK – St. John's men's basketball guard Kadary Richmond was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Richmond continued to be on a tear averaging 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and shot 76.2 percent from the floor during a 2-0 week for the Red Storm.
The Brooklyn native had his best performance in a St. John's uniform in the 68-66 victory over Providence on Saturday. The graduate student exploded for a near triple-double, tallying a season-high 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals. The outstanding performance ended with a heroic mid-range jumper, hitting the game-winner with just :03 remaining on the clock to lift the Johnnies to their eighth straight victory.
In Tuesday's win over Georgetown, Richmond led a lockdown defensive effort as it held the Hoyas to just 41 points, the lowest ever scoring total by a conference opponent in St. John's BIG EAST history. He added 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting, six boards and three blocks.
Over his last five games, the Brooklyn native is logging 15.6 points, 5.6 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. The team captain is 10 rebounds shy of reaching 700 for his collegiate career and would become the only active player in NCAA Division I to record more than 1,500 points, 600 assists and 700 boards.
On the year, Richmond ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in steals per game (1.95), sixth in the assists per outing (4.8) and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1). The Seton Hall transfer has averaged 13.1 points per game during BIG EAST play.
Richmond earned his second consecutive honor roll nod after his first during his time in Queens last week on Jan. 27. The 6-foot-6 guard was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection in 2023-24 while at Seton Hall.
