St. John’s Head Coach Rick Pitino to Join The Herd on FS1

2024-25 National Coach of the Year will join FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd today at 1 p.m. ET
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Men's Basketball Head Coach Rick Pitino will join FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd today at 1 p.m. ET on The Herd. The 2024-25 National Coach of the Year will talk Red Storm hoops and discuss the NBA Draft with Cowherd on FS1 and FOX Sports Radio.

In just his second season in Queens, Pitino led the Red Storm to its first BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament Championships in a quarter century. St. John's earned a No. 2 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament as the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer became the first coach in college basketball history to lead six different programs to the Big Dance.
Pitino earned six different coach of the year awards, including three of the four major national coach of the year honors last season. The Johnnies tied a program record with 31 victories and climbed as high as No. 5 in the Associated Press Poll for the first time since 1991.
St. John's welcomes back All-BIG EAST First Team selection Zuby Ejiofor as well as fellow co-captain Sadiku Ibine Ayo and rising sophomores Ruben Prey and Lefteris Liotopoulos. The quartet of returnees will be joined by the top-rated transfer class in college basketball, according to 247Sports.com and ESPN, that features the likes of Ian Jackson (North Carolina), Joson Sanon (Arizona State), Bryce Hopkins (Providence), Oziyah Sellers (Stanford) and Dillon Mitchell (Cincinnati).
