QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's Men's Basketball senior Zuby Ejiofor joins the "This Week in the BIG EAST" radio show, presented by Westwood One. The episode is available now, to listen click here.
Ejiofor joined hosts Kevin McNamara and John Rooke to discuss the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year's standout campaign, the Red Storm's three-game win streak and Saturday's contest at Villanova. The episode additionally features DePaul Head Coach Chris Holtmann and college basketball media personality Rob Dauster.
The senior forward leads the team in scoring (16.2 PPG), rebounding (7.5 RPG), assists (3.1 APG), blocks (2.1 BPG) and steals (1.4 SPG). Ejiofor is one of two players in NCAA Division I to lead their team in all five of those categories alongside Quion Williams of Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The Garland, Texas native has registered three of his five 20-plus point scoring outings over the last five contests, including tying a career-high with 33 points against Providence on Jan. 3.
Ejiofor has been recognized by the BIG EAST five times in their weekly awards, including a pair of BIG EAST Player of the Week honors on Nov. 10 and Jan. 5. Prior to the season, he was tabbed to the NABC Division I Player of the Year Watch List, Naismith Trophy Watch List, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List and was a Sporting News Preseason Third Team All-American.
Ejiofor and the Johnnies will travel to Philadelphia to meet Villanova on Saturday. The contest at Xfinity Mobile Arena will tip-off at 8 p.m. on NBC Sports Network and Peacock.
