Zuby Ejiofor Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

St. John’s senior forward recognized by the league for the third consecutive week
QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's men's basketball standout Zuby Ejiofor was recognized by the conference for the third consecutive week, earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
Ejiofor averaged 19.5 points on 62.5 percent (15-23 FG) shooting from the floor and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of victories, as the Red Storm extended its win streak four games. The senior forward has registered eight consecutive double-digit scoring outings, dating back to Kentucky on Dec. 20.
In Tuesday's 92-68 victory over Marquette at Madison Square Garden, Ejiofor recorded his fifth 20-plus point outing tallying 22 points in the decisive win. The Garland, Texas native shot 72.7 percent (8-11 FG) from the floor, his highest mark during BIG EAST play and pulled down seven boards.
On Saturday at RV/RV Villanova, Ejiofor logged another strong performance during the 86-79 victory at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The big man added 17 points on 7-for-12 (58.3%) shooting and seven boards as the Johnnies registered their seventh consecutive regular season BIG EAST road victory.
The 6-foot-9 forward remains one of two players in NCAA Division I to lead their team in scoring (16.2 PPG), rebounding (7.4 RPG), assists (3.0 APG), blocks (2.0 BPG) and 1.3 (APG) alongside Quion Williams of Arkansas Pine-Bluff. In BIG EAST play, Ejiofor is averaging 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
Ejiofor, the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year has twice been named the league's player of the week (Nov. 10 & Jan. 5) and landed on the honor roll four times (Dec. 8, Dec. 29, Jan. 12 & Jan. 19).
