2023-24 Student Leaders of the Month
Congratulations to Braeden Pratt, our February Cintas Student Leader of the Month! Pratt is on the St. John’s men’s lacrosse team, a junior studying business finance, and is a SD101 Peer Leader. Pratt is also the captain of the lacrosse team for the second season in a row.

Congratulations to Nicholas Fleuriau Chateau, our October Cintas Student Leader of the Month. Nicholas is on the St. John’s men’s soccer team and attended the Big East Well-Being Forum this summer along with the SAAC conference meeting in Cincinnati. As one of our Big East SAAC reps, and leader of St. John’s institutional SAAC group, Nick presented awards at the St. John’s Athletic Awards Celebration this past May.

Congratulations to Tate Ballestero, our February @CintasCorp Student Leader of the Month. Tate is on @StJohnsBaseball, currently holding a 3.08 GPA in our economics program. During his first season at SJU (2021-22), he was Second Team All-BIG EAST with a .333 batting average.

Congratulations to Hannah Mearns, our January Cintas Student Leader of the Month. Hannah, a Junior on the St. John’s Softball team, is a Biology major maintaining a 3.90 GPA. She started 20 games for the Red Storm in 2022 and recorded 77 strikeouts in 108 innings with two shutouts.

Congratulations to Claire Cushing, our November @CintasCorp Student Leader of the Month, Claire, a senior on the women’s cross-country team, is a speech pathology & Audiology major, where she has a 3.90 GPA overall. Claire recently competed in the BIG EAST women’s cross-country championships where she averaged a 6-minute mile in a 6k.

Jill, a senior on the women’s golf team, is an active member of the Women’s Golf Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Jill took over and ran all SAAC and Student-Athlete Development social media accounts on National Student Athlete day, to promote the Spring Team IMPACT fundraiser. Jill is a marketing major in the Tobin College of Business who holds a 3.97 GPA and plans to get an MBA. Jill, thank you for all your hard work!

Our Cintas Student Leader of the Month for February is Tareq Coburn! Coburn, a graduate student guard for the St. John's men’s basketball program, embodies the work ethic of a Red Storm student-athlete. Congratulations to Ian Murphy, our January Cintas Student Leader of the Month. Murphy, a redshirt junior who is a member of the baseball team, was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. He was also inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society last May where he was recognized for his success both on the competition field and in the classroom. Rosemond was selected to the 20-21 BIG East All Academic Team, holds a 3.2 GPA as a sports management major, made the Dean's list in 19-20, and is a SD 101 Peer Leader. The September Cintas Student Leader of the Month is Charlie James. Charlie James is a senior tennis player from Stamford England. He is heavily involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and helped lead the Solidarity Week initiative in 2021. Charlie is a finance major and currently has a 3.74 GPA.

Our October Cintas Student Leader of the Month is 6th year senior women's soccer player, Zsani Kajan. Kajan is from Budapest, Hungary and is currently top 10 in the country in scoring and she's top 3 all time in scoring for St. John's women's soccer. She has a Bachelors in Sports Management and is pursuing a Masters in International Hospitality Management.

2020-21 Student Leaders of the Month
Christian Rega is the first Cintas Student Leader of the Month! Christian is a Senior on the St. John’s Lacrosse team. Off the field, Christian is on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) E-board and serves as the St. John’s BIG EAST SAAC representative. In the Spring, Christian led the St. John’s Athletics fundraising efforts for the Headstrong Foundation Last Shift Virtual 5k, raising over $7,000 for cancer patients/families affected by cancer. Our Cintas Student Leader of the Month is Alexis Casella! Casella, a junior defender for the St. John's women's soccer program, exemplifies what it means to be a Red Storm student-athlete. Alexis was recently inducted into the President's Society and has served as a member Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) since the spring of 2020. In 2019 and 2020, Casella was named to the Dean's List, while also earning a spot on the All-BIG EAST Academic Team. In addition, Alexis is a Student-Athlete Development Leader.
