2022-23: Played in seven contests totaling 19 minutes... Registered a season-high four minutes and made a free throw against Iona (Dec. 8)... Recorded a steal and an assist on the fast-break against Stony Brook (Nov. 19)
2021-22: Saw action in 14 games as a freshman… Averaged 5.0 minutes and 1.4 points in her first year in the Red and White… Registered 13 minutes against Villanova (Feb. 4) and at Xavier (Feb. 6)… Scored a season-high five points at Georgetown (Jan. 25)… Pulled down a pair of rebounds and dished out three assists against Xavier (Feb. 6)… Shot 53.3 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from the charity stripe… Converted her only 3-point attempt at Georgetown (Jan. 25).
Before St. John's: A 5-foot-9 guard, Katie Burton will be the fourth St. John’s women’s basketball player in the last three recruiting classes to hail from Indiana. She joins rookie guard Sara Zabrecky, alongside twins Emma Nolan and Sophia Nolan … As a junior at Fisher High School, Burton, was named to the 2020 Indiana Junior All-Star Core Team after averaging 15.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game … Her efforts helped lift the Tigers to a 23-2 record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference to finish first in the league … The year prior to, she poured in 13.8 points and grabbed nearly four boards per contest en route to 2019 All-State Honorable Mention … Burton received numerous accolades over her high school career, including three-time Fisher High School Offensive Player of the Year, three-time Hoosier Crossroads All-Conference First Team selection and three-time Hamilton County All-Conference First Team honoree.
