As a Sophomore (2013-14): Indoor Track - 500-meters: recorded a personal-best time of 1:20.26 at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games (Feb. 14) to finish 17th overall … 800-meters: took home an eighth place finish at the Princeton Women's Triangular Meet with a time of 2:34.44 (Jan. 10) … finished 11th overall at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships with a time of 2:21.88 (Jan. 30-31) … 4x800-meter relay: ran in the event just twice during indoor season including a fifth place finish at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships when her relay team ran a 9:46.45 (Jan. 30-31) … Outdoor Track - 1500-meters: ran a personal-best time of 4:49.99 in the 1500-meters at the Princeton Quad Meet (April 12) to finish 12th overall … 4x800-meter relay: took home a fifth place finish at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships with a total team time of 9:00.73 (May 9-11)
As A Freshman (2012-13): Indoor - 1000-meters: ran the event three times, posting a personal-best time of 3:08.90 in a fourth-place finish at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games (2/8/13) ... Outdoor - 800-meters: placed 18th at the Metropolitan Championships (April 12-13) in a personal best time of 2:26.59.
At Notre Dame Academy: Lettered four years in track & field ... competed in the 100, 200, 400 and 800-meter races ... member of the 2011 Staten Island Cross Country Championship team ... recorded personal-best times of 1:00 in the 400-meters, 13.0 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 27.0 seconds in the 200-meters ... played two seasons of varsity soccer.
Personal: Daughter of Linda and Charles Van Pelt ... has two siblings, Michael and twin sister Stephanie who also runs track & field for St. John's ... inducted into the National Honor Society ... volunteered with the NYC Marathon, CYO track & field, Polar Plunge and CYO soccer organizations ... chose St. John's for the opportunity to compete in the BIG EAST and stay close to home.
