A four-year starter for St. John's, Williams ranked eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,727 career points at the time if his induction. His most prolific season came during his senior year in 1976-77, when he captained the squad to a 22-9 record, while scoring a then-record 665 points during the campaign. Williams was fourth in school history in field goals made with 712 at the time of his induction.
