John Franco went 15-4 with three saves and a 2.42 ERA to help lead St. John's to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three seasons. The lefty went 3-2 with one save and 3.03 ERA as a sophomore to help lead St. John's to the 1980 College World Series. After posting a 5-1 record with one save and a 2.22 ERA as a junior, Franco was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth round (125th overall) of the 1981 MLB Draft.
