A former track & field star turned coach, Lang was a Metropolitan Champion in cross country and set five school records in three sports: cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field. He went on to coach track & field at the high school and collegiate level, coaching IC4A champions, 30 All-Americans, five NCAA record holders and several Olympians. Lang also was the Athletic Director at Georgetown University and was inducted into the Hoyas' Hall of Fame in 2008.
