Proly went 10-4 in two seasons at St. John's, posting a pair of 5-2 records to go with a 2.02 ERA and a 1.90 ERA, respectively. The pitcher was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth round (213th overall) of the 1972 MLB Draft and had a seven-year career in the big leagues, including stints with the Cardinals, White Sox, Phillies and Cubs.
