St. Johns Scholar Athletes Honored

Bilezikjian led the team in batting (.352), hits (69), doubles (16), total bases (97), and stolen bases (26). Bilezkjian is majoring in elementary education and will earn a $2,000 scholarship toward his graduate studies.
Tropea, a catcher/third basemen, played in all 61 games for the Red Storm. In those games she batted .234 and led the team in hits (45), doubles (11), runs (27) and walks (17). Tropea is working on her degree in elementary education and will earn a 2,000 scholarship toward her graduate studies.
Seton Halls Gregory Strohman was named Male Scholar Athlete of the year. Notre Dames Jarrah Myers took home the honor of Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Aeropostale stores are the official apparel of Big East Championships and are the sponsor of the Conferences Post Graduate Student-Athlete Scholarship program. This year they will award 31 scholarships to conference student-athletes. Bilezkjian and Tropea were among the 29 student-athletes competing for the scholar-athlete of the year.
