Jamaica, N.Y. - JAMAICA, N.Y. -- The St. John's University men's soccer NCAA Tournament match with Creighton University scheduled for this weekend on the Red Storm's campus in New York City has been relocated due to inclement weather in the New York City Metropolitan area.
St. John's, the No. 6 seed in the 48-team field, will play Creighton at Ludwig Field on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. The game will follow second-seeded Maryland's game against No. 7 seed St. Louis.
Tickets will be available at the entrance to Ludwig Field. Prices are $7 for adults and $3 for students. There will be no advance sale available.
The winner of both matches will advance to the NCAA Final Four in Columbus, Ohio next weekend.
The Red Storm were originally scheduled to host Creighton (12-4-3) on Friday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m., but a storm dropped nearly eight inches of snow in the area. The game was to be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Queens campus, but another storm on Saturday - this one expected to leave between 12 and 18 inches of snow, with 45 mile-per-hour winds - led to the decision to move the game outside the Metropolitan area.
