Softball's Argeras, Oliver and Sherlock Honored By the BIG EAST

Argeras finished her four years as St. Johns starting second baseman by putting up career offensive numbers. She batted .294 in the third spot, notching 48 hits and 78 total bases. Argeras hit seven home runs, a single season total that ranks second all-time in program history, and drove in 28 runs. In conference play, Argeras hit .350 with 21 hits and 10 RBI, while also walking 10 times. She led the team with a .517 slugging percentage and a .443 on base percentage in BIG EAST games.
Sherlock led St. Johns in batting this season with a .320 average and 56 hits. She drove in 27 runs and hit a team-high 13 doubles. Over the final 18 games of the year, Sherlock hit .455 with a .927 slugging percentage and seven homeruns. In BIG EAST play, Sherlock hit .339 with 20 hits and eight RBI. She becomes the first St. Johns rookie to be named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Oliver, the Red Storms leadoff batter, hit .301 for the year with 55 hits and 20 RBI. She scored a team-high 32 runs and ranked among St. Johns leaders in on-base percentage (.333). In conference play, Oliver led the team with a .352 batting average, 25 hits and 11 RBI. Olivers strong defensive play at third base took away hit after hit.
Including Oliver and Sherlock, just four Red Storm players have ever been honored as members of the Rookie Team.
