Queens, NY - The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team swept St. John's University 3-0 in a home contest at Gampel Pavilion. The team improves its record to 17-10, 6-4 in the Big East while the Red Storm drop to 1-8 in the conference and 15-13 overall. UConn swept the match by the scores of 30-21, 30-24, and 30-22.
Senior tri-captain Jamie Hadenfeldt led the attack for the Huskies with a 14 kills along with 31 digs in the winning effort. Freshman Julie Pickard contributed a team-high 32 digs, and Junior Megan Crawley chipped in 11 kills for the Huskies.
Sophomore Nicole Colaluca notched a game-high 44 digs in the loss for the Red Storm, while junior Jackie Ahlers contributed with 15 kills and 28 digs.
