DARYLL: Welcome back to "Shooting 3's With Daryll Hill." It's been a little while, thanks for tuning in everyone.
First thing - a lot of people have asked me about scoring 1,000 points at St. John's. It feels good to be a part of history at a place where the history is so big. It felt great when my family and friends and all the fans were cheering for me the other day when they presented me with the game ball.
I think our team is off to a good start. Everyone is getting better every day. I think we'd be off to an even better start but things didn't go exactly as planned, so we're just going to take it from here. Our players have been playing hard every time we go out there. We're building confidence in ourselves and our teammates. Our team chemistry is getting to where it needs to be.
In between games, we've been watching film on ourselves so we can keep getting better. We've been practicing hard, and that is helping us to be more and more confident.
It feels good right now to have beaten some of the teams that we lost to last year. I think it shows everyone that we are a different team.
I think we're a good enough team that we could have gotten that win over Hofstra, even without me playing. I wanted to play really bad that game, and it was hard watching while we lost the lead. My knee is feeling good though and I'm ready to go.
I think we've learned from our mistakes in that game and we've moved forward. The Charleston Southern game showed that. We have to understand that it's our defense that will help us win ballgames.
Statistically we're one of the top defensive and rebounding teams in our conference. I think that shows we've been working hard, and every time we go out there we're playing hard. The guys on our team have great determination and a love of the game.
Tonight will be a big game for us to close out our homestand on a good note. We won't underestimate anyone, we're just going to go out and play hard and hopefully we'll get a good outcome.
Thanks for tuning in to "Shooting 3's With Daryll Hill." I'll see you next time.
