Head Coach Norm Roberts
On the play of Anthony Mason Jr.:
"The one thing we tell Mason [Anthony Mason Jr.] is that he is unique in a lot of ways. He can do a lot of different things. He is long, he can rebound, he can make a shot, he can run down loose balls. He can shoot it from the perimeter and drive to the basket. We told him we need him to use all facets of his game and he has improved his defense as well. When he is playing the entire game and not just worrying about one thing, he???s a much better player. We need him to stay that way."
On St. Francis:
"We haven???t won enough games to take anybody lightly. Our guys know that. If you don???t come prepared to play, you???re going to get beat. We have to play our game and come out ready to play."
More on St. Francis:
"Coach Nash does a good job with his team. He will have them here, ready to go and focused. I know that every time we play a team like a St. Francis or an LIU, it???s their Super Bowl. If our guys do not come in focused and ready to play, you???re going to be in for a dogfight."
On the possibility of senior guard Daryll Hill having continued knee problems:
"I don???t fear it. We???re prepared for it. We know that it could be something like that. But I don???t want Daryll going out there playing injured. He wants to play every game. I told him that it???s up to him to let us know how he feels. If he is ready to go, he will play. The one thing about Daryll Hill is that he wants to be in every game, in every practice."
Senior Guard Daryll HillOn his knee injury:
"I???ve never been injured before so this is all new to me. Last year it was more of a pain in my knee. I knew I couldn???t run or move. Now it???s just a soreness. I feel like its getting better and I will play tomorrow."
On the play of freshman guard Larry Wright:
"I think Larry [Wright] is playing fine. He needs to be a little more relaxed out there and work on handling the ball a little bit but once he gets that done, he???ll be good."
On Tuesday???s opponent, St. Francis College:
"They beat us two years ago on Carnesecca night so you can???t sleep on them."
Junior Guard Eugene LawrenceOn the performance of teammate Anthony Mason Jr.:
"I think he has improved a lot from last year. He is handling the ball better and attacking the glass better. He is not relying on his jumpshot so much. He???s worked really hard to prepare himself for this season."
Senior Center Lamont HamiltonOn his performance against UMBC:
"I made sure I didn???t get frustrated last game and kept with it. My team kept believing in me so that helped."
On Tuesday???s game against St. Francis:
"If we play our game, we can definitely win. When we play our game, we always have the chance to win."
