About the Artists:
All American Rejects - AAR will take a break from its American tour to swing by the St. John's campus Saturday night. The band's latest single "Move Along" is currently No. 15 on the Billboard Top-100, while "Dirty Little Secret" peaked at No. 9 and is holding strong at No. 45. Meanwhile, their recent album Move Along peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200
The Roots - This Grammy winning group is one of the best hip-hop groups around and has a reputation for putting on an amazing show. Their album The Tipping Point clocked in at No. 42 on Blender Magazine's 50 Greatest CDs of 2004 and the track "Don't Say Nuthin'" was No. 44 of the 100 Best Songs of 2004.
Nina Sky - This local duo hails from Astoria, Queens, and brought you the chart topping hit "Move Ya Body" and other beats with pop/Latin flair. Their debut self-titled album received rave reviews and their music video was added to MTV's "Big 10 Rotation" in the summer of its release.
Noztra - Not to be confused with other Reggaeton artists, the self-proclaimed "El Real King of New York" does the show in grand fashion and is quickly catching momentum. With a lyrical style often compared to that of Nas, Noztra continues a tradition of featuring artists that are soon to make it big.
Shang Forbes - Forbes is an accomplished comedian, actor and poet with New York City roots and a friend of St. John's University. Forbes performed here in the fall, and loves our students. An accomplished host, he will make sure that there is no dead time between the music!
DJ Neil Armstrong from the 5th Platoon - Keeping with the team of homegrown performances, DJ Neil Armstrong not only has national acclaim but also strong ties to the local New York City area. He's been written about in Vibe, Rolling Stone and Newsweek.
NOTE: You must be 18 to enter and have a valid government-issued ID. Guests must enter the arena with their host. There is no re-entry to Carnesecca Arena after the concert has begun. Doors will close at 11 p.m. No refunds or exchanges.
