Landers Grabs BIG EAST Goalkeeper Of The Week Honors

QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior goalkeeper Jason Landers has been named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after posting two shutouts during a 1-0-1 week for the Red Storm.
Landers made six saves in a 2-0 win over then-No. 21 Michigan as the Red Storm improved to 3-2-0 against ranked teams this season. The keeper then made two saves in a scoreless draw against Louisville.
Landers has posted four consecutive shutouts during a 2-0-2 stretch for the Red Storm and has not allowed a goal in 415:44. The senior has also totaled five shutouts in just seven games this season.
Landers currently leads the BIG EAST in shutouts per game (0.71) and is third in goals against average (0.54).
St. John's (6-4-3, 3-1-2) returns to action with a non-conference home game against Princeton on October 17.
