NEW YORK -
- The Red Storm is now 65-36 all-time in the Holiday Festival. The Red Storm has been in the finals in each of the past four seasons.
- St. John's held Virginia Tech to just 36.7 percent from the floor. It is the sixth time this season that the Red Storm defense has held the opposition to under 40.0 percent.
- With four steals, Eugene Lawrence passed Erick Barkley to move into sixth place in the all-time record books with 170 in his career. Next on the list is Mark Jackson with 174 from 1983-87.
- Lawrence also dished out four assists and now has 459 in his career to remain in fourth place all-time. Frank Alagia is next on the list with 478.
- Lawrence also reached double-figures for the sixth time this season and had a season best eight rebounds.
- Anthony Mason Jr. garnered his first start of the season after three consecutive games with double figures. Mason Jr. finished with 12 points and four assists.
- Larry Wright made at least one 3-pointer for the ninth time this season. Wright finished with seven points. Wright now has 115 points this season after scoring 125 points in 2006-07.
- Tomas Jasiulionis scored six points and has totaled 22 points over the past three games.
- Justin Burrell blocked a career-high three shots. The freshman also added six points and six rebounds.
- D.J. Kennedy dished out one assist to extend his streak of recording at least one in every game this year. He is the only Red Storm player to have at least one assist in every game.
