Leszczynska Named To BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - On Monday, the BIG EAST Conference named St. John's senior Wioleta Leszczynska to the BIG EAST Volleyball weekly honor roll for her efforts in the Red Storm's exciting 3-2 win over UConn on Saturday afternoon.
The senior posted a match-high 55 assists, her second-highest total of the season, and contributed seven digs, two total blocks, one kill and a .333 hitting percentage in the victory.
Leszczynska currently leads the BIG EAST with 11.62 assists per set. She also ranks first in conference matches only with 12.29 assists per set.
Seniors Lena Yee and Valeria Kovaleva are also among the BIG EAST leaders in all matches in digs per set. Yee ranks third with 4.20, while Kovaleva checks in at eighth with 3.79.
Senior Casie Brooks' .385 hitting percentage is good for fifth place in the BIG EAST for conference matches only and freshman Darlene Ramdin ranks sixth in the conference with 0.42 service aces per set during league play.
As a team, the Red Storm is first among BIG EAST schools with 14.11 kills per set and 13.33 assists per set. STJ ranks second in the conference in digs per set (15.49) and opponents' hitting percentage (.167). St. John's .230 hitting percentage is good for sixth in the BIG EAST.
