NEW YORK -
- St. John's overcame deficits of 11 points in the first half and 12 points in the second half to force its first overtime contest of the season.
- In Eugene Lawrence's final game, the senior captain had eight points, seven assists, and two steals.
- Lawrence finishes his career ranked third on the all-time assists list with 520 helpers and fourth on the all-time 3-pointers made list, with 122
- Each of the Mountaineers 12 first half field goals came with an assist.
- Larry Wright scored a career-high 20 points and has now made a 3-pointer in 22 of 28 appearances this season. He had nine games with three or more treys in 2007-08.
- Anthony Mason Jr. scored the first seven points of the second half for the Red Storm and finished with 17 points on the day. Over the last seven games, Mason Jr. has averaged 15.0 points and 4.6 assists. The junior finished the season with 17 double-figure scoring games.
- Paris Horne made 2-of-4 3-pointers on Saturday en route to a nine-point performance. He has drilled 9-of-14 from long distance over the past eight games for a 64.3 3-point FG percentage.
- D.J. Kennedy finished with 10 points and four rebounds against West Virginia and has averaged 10.2 points in his final five games of the season.
- Sean Evans has averaged four points and 3.2 rebounds in his last six games.
- Saturday's game was only the seventh game this season that two or more Red Storm players scored 15-plus points. The last time was on Feb. 6, 2008 at Rutgers.
- Joe Mazzulla's layup with 0.3 seconds remaining in regulation marked the first Mountaineer point scored by a player other than Da'Sean Butler or Joe Alexander since 13:37 of the second half.
- Two Red Storm players set career highs in minutes today, as freshman Kennedy saw 38 minutes of action and classmate Horne played for 29 minutes.
