QUEENS, N.Y. - Junior forward Sverre Wegge Gundhus has been honored by TopDrawerSoccer as a third team selection to the publication's Teams of the Season. Wegge Gundhus is one of 10 BIG EAST players to make the list.
A first team All-BIG EAST selection, Wegge Gundhus has started all 20 games this year and has a team-high 18 points. The forward leads the team with eight assists and is tied for the team lead with five goals, including one game-winner.
Wegge Gundhus, who has tallied at least one point in 11 games this season, ranks third in the BIG EAST in both assists and assists per game. The forward is also tied for eighth in the conference in points.
The Red Storm won its conference record eighth BIG EAST Tournament crown this year and earned the No. 13 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. After a first round bye, St. John's will host the winner of the Dartmouth/Boston College matchup at 6 p.m. on Nov. 22. The Red Storm enters the NCAA Tournament with a 13-game unbeaten streak (7-0-6).
