- St. John's opened the game on a 9-3 run in the first 5:11. In that stretch, Dwight Hardy (five points) and Justin Brownlee (four points) accounted for all the scoring.
- The Red Storm shot 25-of-51 (49.0 percent) from the floor, eclipsing the 40.0 percent plateau for the sixth time this year. St. John's is 5-1 when shooting at least 40.0 percent from the floor.
- St. John's shot a season-best 50.0 percent (7-of-14) from 3-point land.
- D.J. Kennedy finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Kennedy has reached double-figures in all eight games this season. The junior led the team in assists for the sixth-straight game and has 14 assists, with just four turnovers, in the past two games.
- Paris Horne made his first two 3-pointers and finished 3-of-5 from long range. Horne is 4-for-8 (50.0 percent) from beyond the arc in the past two games.
- Brownlee made his first-career start and tallied 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor. Brownlee has reached double-figures on three occasions this year.
- In his first-career start, Hardy scored in double-figures for the fifth time this year with a team-best 12-point effort. Hardy made a 3-pointer for the eighth-straight game, finishing 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
- Junior Dele Coker finished with a career-high five blocks and also added a season-high six points. Coker has a team-high 15 blocks on the year and has eight in the past two games.
- Rob Thomas made his season debut midway through the first half. The redshirt junior finished with three points and two rebounds in nine minutes of action.
