- Senior Guard Malik Boothe
On what the team hopes to carry over from the win over West Virginia:
"To continue to execute like we have been doing down the stretch, to continue to play tough defense from minute 1 to minute 40."
On St. John's improved post play in recent games:
"Earlier, when we lost those two back-to-back games, we realized that we were just taking more 3's than we were feeding it inside. So we were trying to make a better effort to get the ball inside and play inside-out."
On the expected pace of the St. John's-Providence game:
"It should be a very fast, up-tempo, entertaining game. Both teams like to play up-tempo and I think the way we condition, I think towards the end of the game, we're going to wear them out."
Senior Guard Paris Horne
On what St. John's did well in the win over West Virginia:
"We just played with intensity. We played for 40 minutes. We played together, played defense and we just hung in there and got that win."
On excelling in both transition and the half-court offense:
"We're just clicking. We get it. We like to get out and run, but we know we've got to have a half-court game if we don't get those chances to get out and run. We've got to have both games to be a good team."
On St. John's progress on defense over the course of the season:
"We're just intense with it. You've got to have that intensity. You've got to be mean on defense and you've got to want to stop people. That's been our mindset all year and we're just going to carry it on through the rest of the year."
On his New Year's Resolution for 2011:
"Just to win. That's our goal. As seniors, our resolution is just to win and keep winning as many games as we can and hope we get to the NCAA Tournament."
