LYNCHBURG, Va. - The St. John's baseball team will conclude its seven-game road trip in Lynchburg, Va., with a three-game set against the Liberty Flames. The series opens on Friday at 3 p.m., and continues at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The set concludes on Sunday with a 1 p.m. getaway game as the team will head back to Queens for its home-opener on March 16.

Inside The Series With Liberty
- This weekend's games will mark the first-ever meetings between the two schools.
Scouting The Flames (9-1)
- After opening the season with a nine-game winning streak, the Flames are coming off a 5-3 defeat against Old Dominion.
- Tyler Bream is batting .462 with two home runs and a team-best 15 RBI.
- Nathan Thompson has a .419 average and 12 RBI, while adding team-highs with four doubles and four home runs.
- The pitching staff has a 2.15 ERA and has allowed opponents just a .193 batting average.
Parque Extends Hitting Streak
- With a 2-for-5 day against No. 11 UNC, Jimmy Parque has now hit safely in all 10 games this year and has a team-best seven multi-hit games.
- Dating back to the 2009 season, the senior now has a 14-game hitting streak.
- Parque had a team-best 23-game hitting streak in 2009, a season in which he hit safely in 41 of 51 games and posted 27 multi-hit efforts.
- A 2009 third team All-BIG EAST selection, Parque has hit safely in 51 of 61 career games and has 34 multi-hit games.
Big Days At The Plate
- Six different players have registered a four-hit day on the season, including three that finished just shy of a cycle.
- Freshman Sean O'Hare was 4-for-6 with three single and one double in a 5-2 win against UNO on Feb. 20
- Scott Ferrara was one of three players to have a four-hit day in a record-breaking 31-6 win at UNO on Feb. 21. Ferrara was 4-for-6 with three singles, one double and four RBI. Greg Hopkins finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-for-7 with two singles, one double, one home run and seven RBI. Paul Karmas had three home runs and a single in a 4-for-7 day that included 10 RBI.
- Jimmy Parque finished a home run shy of the cycle in a March 5 game at ETSU. Parque was 4-for-4 with two singles, one doubles and one triple.
- Joe Panik also finished a home run shy of the cycle in a March 7 game at ETSU. Panik had one single, two doubles and a triple in a 4-for-4 day at the plate.
St. John's Opens 7-0 For Best Start Since 1981
- St. John's improved to 7-0 on the year after a series-opening win at ETSU on March 5. The start is the best of the Ed Blankmeyer Era and the best since the 1981 squad opened 14-0.
- The best start in school-history belongs to the 1962 squad that opened the season 21-0.
