Elizabeth Austin Named Assistant Director of Athletic Development/Events

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs/Finance Brian Colleary announced the hiring of Elizabeth Austin as Assistant Director of Athletic Development/Events. Austin will be responsible for the coordination of all Athletic Development events, which include alumni gatherings for St. John's 17 varsity athletic programs, Red White Club receptions and other special events.
Austin, a native of Kansas City, Mo., worked as a graduate assistant in St. John's Athletic Development department from the fall of 2008 through the spring of 2010. Her responsibilities included assisting the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs/Finance, members of the Athletic Development department, Major Gift Officers and the Special Events Director in preparation for the University's athletic development events. Austin also worked on direct mail campaigns to prospective donors, processed incoming donations and maintained a database of Department of Athletics donors.
Austin was also a member of the St. John's volleyball team from 2004-07, helping the Red Storm reach the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and 2007. She received a bachelor of science in finance from St. John's in 2008 and a master of business administration in executive management from St. John's this past May.
