Darlene Ramdin Garners All-BIG EAST Second Team Honors

MILWAUKEE - After recently capping an outstanding four-year career, St. John's volleyball captain Darlene Ramdin has been named to the All-BIG EAST Conference Second Team for the second-consecutive season, as announced at the conference's annual banquet in Milwaukee - the site of the 2011 BIG EAST Championship.
A Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Finalist and the focal point of the Red Storm attack, Ramdin eclipsed the 300-kill mark for the second time of her career, finishing the campaign with 355 total kills for a team-high 3.05 kills per set average. The middle hitter also led STJ in attacking attempts with 884, and went over 100 blocks for the second-straight season, finishing the campaign with 114 total rejections for a 0.98 blocks per set average. The Trinidadian also finished the season with a team-high 436.0 total points.
The Red Storm finished with a 10-21 overall record in 2011, including a 1-13 mark in BIG EAST play. Ramdin finishes her outstanding career at St. John's ranked sixth in all-time kills (1,234) and third in all-time blocks (392).
