Ligety Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team Accolades

QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior defender/midfielder Ido Ligety has earned Capital One Academic All-District first team honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. As a first team all-district selection, Ligety is now added to the ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
An accounting major with a 3.80 GPA, Ligety has appeared in 18 games this season, including 13 starts, for St. John's (12-6-2). The senior made his Division I debut this season and has two goals on the year, including one game-winner. Ligety notched the game-winner for his first-career goal in a 2-0 win against Harvard (Sept. 9) and also tallied a goal in a 4-2 win against DePaul (Oct. 22).
A second team NSCAA All-American as a sophomore at Mercer County C.C., Ligety also earned first team all-conference honors as a sophomore and was the 2009-10 MCCC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
St. John's will play Villanova at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.
