St. John's Assistant Coach Mike Dunlap
On the game:
"It's nice to have a lead at halftime, finally. From a defensive field goal percentage [standpoint] for us, that's a real positive to hold them to that field goal percentage. And we've had trouble on the boards, they're a good rebounding team and have done a good job on the boards and I thought, again, with Moe [Harkless] leading the way with 16 boards we rebounded by committee and that's a real positive sign that we're growing."
On controlling his team during Fordham's second half run:
"I think with our guys, because of the way they were recruited, a lot of them were on the offensive side of the ball, so getting whether it's Phil [Greene] or D'Angelo [Harrison] or Moe [Harkless] to take a shot, is not a hard task. The key point is not to play the clock out all the time, run off the misses. But the problem was, they had the momentum going. They were making shots, so our run-outs weren't as good. In the first half we were fresher, so we were able to transition and get to their zone before it set up and got some cheap ones, especially before the last 2:30 of the first half."
Freshman Forward Moe Harkless
On playing all 40 minutes:
"Once you get that second wind, I could keep playing another 40 minutes probably."
On point guard Phil Greene:
"Phil's become more of a leader, more vocal, and he's ready to just take care of us. He's a point guard, so you know we all listen to him when he's ready to talk."
