Team Notes
- St. John's scored its most points (91) since defeating Duke 93-78 on Jan. 30, 2011. The performance also marked the most points in a BIG EAST game since a 93-91 loss to Syracuse on March 4, 2001. The Red Storm last scored more than 91 points in a BIG EAST game on Feb. 15, 1999 in a 104-70 triumph against Providence.
- The 91 points were the most in a BIG EAST opener since a 93-62 win against Connecticut on Jan. 2, 1990.
- The Red Storm scored 47 points in the first half, its most points in the opening stanza since scoring 50 against LIU in a season-opening 83-70 win on Nov. 13, 2009. The first half output was the most in a BIG EAST game since scoring 49 points in a 71-68 win against Notre Dame on Jan. 23, 2007.
- St. John's won its BIG EAST opener for the second-straight season. The Red Storm defeated West Virginia, 81-71, on Dec. 29, 2010 to open BIG EAST play a season ago.
- The Red Storm shot a season-best 56.5 percent (35-of-62) from the field. St. John's, which has shot at least 50.0 percent in two-straight games, is 4-1 when shooting 50.0 or better this season.
- St. John's dished out 19 assists, its most since also totaling 19 in a 76-51 win against DePaul on Feb. 23, 2011.
- The Red Storm totaled 14 steals, its most since also collecting 14 steals in a 58-56 win against Rutgers on Feb. 2, 2011.
Individual Notes
- Moe Harkless scored 32 points to set a new BIG EAST record for points scored by a freshman in a conference debut. The previous record of 30 was held by both Troy Murphy of Notre Dame (vs. Providence: Dec. 8, 1998) and Allen Iverson of Georgetown (vs. Providence: Dec. 7, 1994). The 32 points were the most scored by a Red Storm player since Dwight Hardy scored 34 points in an 81-68 win at Villanova on Feb. 26, 2011.
- Harkless also added 13 rebounds to post his fourth-career double-double and fourht in the past five games. The freshman is averaging 17.8 points and 11.0 rebounds in that five-game stretch.
- D'Angelo Harrison netted a career-high 25 points to record his second-straight and third-career 20-point game. The freshman was 2-of-5 from long range to record his fourth-straight multi-trey game. Harrison also dished out a career-high seven assists and had zero turnovers.
- Phil Greene tied a career-high with 12 points to record his third-career double-figure scoring effort.
