QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's Dance team competed at the 2012 UDA College Nationals on Jan. 14 and 15 in Orlando, Fla., taking home a fifth-place finish in the hip hop division. This marks the second-straight year that the Red Storm has garnered a top-five finish after taking home second place in 2011.
"The team worked very hard over the past several months preparing for nationals. These students devote countless hours to the team and the university. We are so pleased to have another top-five finish again this year," head coach Christine McCarton said.
The competition in Orlando was extremely tight, with St. John's finishing just .133 points away from a top-three finish after the final round of competition.
18 teams competed in the Division I category, with Hofstra taking first place in the hip hop division. For all the latest St. John's Dance news, log on to RedStormSports.com and follow the team (@STJ_Dance) on Twitter.
