QUEENS, N.Y. - After going the distance for his second complete game of the season in a 6-2 win against then-No. 22 Louisville, Sean Hagan earned a spot on the BIG EAST weekly honor roll.
Hagan scattered five hits, while striking out six batters and walking one in the start against the Cardinals. The lefty worked six 1-2-3 innings and retired the final 12 batters of the game to improve to 7-2 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 2.85.
The lefty, who went the distance earlier this season against Connecticut (April 14), is the first Red Storm pitcher to toss two complete games in a single season since Anthony Varvaro accomplished the feat in 2005.
Hagan ranks tied for fourth in the league in wins (7), sixth in opponent batting average (.228) and eighth in ERA (2.85)
St. John's (32-19) returns to action on May 15, hosting Marist for a 6 p.m. Senior Day matchup.
