NEW YORK - Team Notes
- The 104 points scored marked the first time that St. John's has reached the 100-point plateau since a 104-70 victory against Providence on Feb. 15, 1999. The 52 points scored in both the first and second halves matched a season-high for scoring in a half as the Red Storm also scored 52 points in the second half in the season-opener against Wisconsin on Nov. 8.
- The Red Storm had five players finish in double-figures for the first time since a 79-74 overtime win against DePaul on Jan. 30, 2013.
- St. John's shot 66.1 percent (39-of-59) from the floor in the game, the first time that the Red Storm has shot at least 60.0 percent from the floor since a 61.0 percent (25-of-41) outing against West Virginia on Dec. 29, 2010.
- St. John's fired at a 78.6 percent clip (22-of-28) in the first half, the highest first half shooting percentage since Dec. 21, 2007 when the Red Storm shot 71.4 (15-of-21) in the opening 20 minutes against Hawaii and the best shooting percentage in either half since the Red Storm fired at an 80.0 percent clip (16-of-20) in the second frame against Northwestern on Dec. 21, 2010.
- The Red Storm reached double-figures in team blocks for the fifth time this season with a 10-block performance.
- St. John's committed just nine turnovers to finish with fewer than 10 miscues in a game for the fourth time this season.
Individual Notes
- Sir'Dominic Pointer registered a season-high 12 points to go with a career-high 11 assists and a season-high nine rebounds. Pointer, who also committed zero turnovers, bested his previous career-high of seven assists against Rutgers on Jan. 23, 2013. The nine boards were also the most for Pointer since a 12-rebound performance against Notre Dame on March 5, 2013.
- Orlando Sanchez reached double-figures for the first time in his career and finished with a career-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor. Sanchez also matched a career-high with eight rebounds and finished 2-of-2 from distance for his first-career multi-trey game.
- Rysheed Jordan, who started for the first time since Nov. 19 against Bucknell, made his fourth-career start and finished with a career-high nine points, a career-high five rebounds and a career-high five assists. The freshman has totaled nine assists and just two turnovers in the past three games.
- Max Hooper drained a 3-pointer for the third-straight game with a 1-of-3 performance from beyond the arc. Hooper is shooting 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from long range in that three-game stretch.
- JaKarr Sampson went a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and poured in 12 points in just 15 minutes of action to record his sixth double-figure scoring game this season.
- D'Angelo Harrison finished with 13 points to record double-figures for the eighth time in as many games this season. Harrison went 2-of-4 from long range and is firing at a 46.2 (6-of-13) percent clip from beyond the arc in the past three games.
- Jamal Branch dished out a season-high five assists, his most since a five-assist outing against Saint Joseph's on March 19, 2013. Branch has totaled 14 assists in the past four games, an average of 3.5 per game.
- God'sgift Achiuwa scored a season-high eight points, his most since a 12-point performance against Rutgers on March 3, 2012.
- Marc-Antoine Bourgault tied a career-high with three 3-pointers made and finished with nine points, his most since scoring 10 points against USF on Feb. 20, 2013.
