Team Notes
- St. John's had two players register a double-double for the first time since Dec. 1, 2011 when God'sgift Achiuwa had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Moe Harkless added 16 points and 10 rebounds against then-No. 1 Kentucky.
- The Red Storm finished with five players in double-figures for the first time since Jan. 23, 2014 when the Red Storm defeated Seton Hall, 77-76.
- St. John's finished with just seven turnovers in the contest. The Red Storm recorded less than 10 turnovers in 14 games last season, including a season-low of five in a win against Providence on Feb. 4, 2014.
- The Red Storm shot 75.0 percent (27-of-36) from the charity stripe. St. John's went 9-5 last season when shooting at least 75.0 from the free throw line.
Individual Notes
- Chris Obekpa scored a career-high 13 points and matched a career-high with 13 rebounds as part of his first-career double-double effort. Obekpa surpassed his previous career-high of 11 points, a total he had reached on two occasions. The junior previously pulled down 13 rebounds against Penn State on Nov. 29, 2013.
- Sir'Dominic Pointer finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds to notch his sixth-career double-double and first since a 12-point, 11-board effort against Fordham on Dec. 7, 2013.
- D'Angelo Harrison scored 10 points to move into sole possession of ninth place on the all-time St. John's scoring list with 1,611 points. The 10-point performance marked the 79th time in 93 games played that Harrison has reached double-figures.
- Rysheed Jordan reached double-figures for the 15th time in his career with a game-high 18-point effort. Jordan added five assists with just one turnover.
- Jamal Branch finished in double-figures for the eighth time in his career with an 11-point performance.
- In his first action since the 2012-13 season, Christian Jones finished with four points, two boards and one steal in 11 minutes.
- Felix Balamou went 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. The junior has now made 12-of-13 free throws (92.3 percent) in his career.
- Freshmen Myles Stewart and Amar Alibegovic each made their collegiate-debuts. Stewart had one steal in 11 minutes, while Alibegovic played four minutes.
