NEW YORK - Team Notes
- St. John's snapped a six-game losing streak against Georgetown, notching its first win against the Hoyas since a 61-58 triumph on Jan. 3, 2011.
- The 82 points scored by St. John's matched the second-most allowed this season by Georgetown. Then-No. 19 Kansas scored 86 to beat Georgetown on Dec. 21, while then-No. 19 Oregon scored 82 in a season-opening win against the Hoyas.
- St. John's shot 57.4 percent (27-of-47) from the floor, the second-best shooting percentage for the squad this season. St. John's is 7-0 this season when shooting at least 50.0 percent from the field.
- The Red Storm committed just eight turnovers, the 11th time this season committing fewer than 10 miscues. The squad is 7-4 in such contests and also has a 13-5 mark when committing fewer turnovers than the opposition.
- St. John's had 17 assists in the game, matching the most for the team in BIG EAST play this season. The Red Storm also had 17 assists against Seton Hall on Jan. 23.
- The Red Storm posted a +5 (27-22) margin on the boards and improved to 9-1 this season when outrebounding the opposition.
- St. John's led 46-28 at halftime and improved to 13-2 when leading at the break.
Individual Notes
- Rysheed Jordan scored a career-high 24 points to record his first-career 20-point performance. Jordan also made three 3-pointers (3-of-6), a new career-best. The freshman is averaging 12.3 points in the past seven games.
- D'Angelo Harrison recorded his 12th 20-point game of the season, 36th of his career, with a 24-point effort. Harrison also went 2-of-6 from long range to record his 13th multi-trey game of the season. Harrison passed Bill Schaeffer (1,484) on the all-time scoring list and now sits in 13th place with 1,500 points, just four behind D.J. Kennedy (1,504).
- JaKarr Sampson reached double-figures for the 20th time this season with a 12-point effort.
- Orlando Sanchez finished with nine points, his highest output since a 16-point performance against Seton Hall on Jan. 23.
- Chris Obekpa dished out a season-high four assists, one shy of his career-high of five set against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Dec. 15, 2012.
