Team Notes
- The St. John's victory gave the Red Storm consecutive wins against Syracuse for the first time since the 1992-93 season. The Red Storm registered a 69-57 victory last season at the Carrier Dome, a win that snapped a 55-game non-conference home winning streak for the Orange.
- St. John's improved to 6-0 at home this season, including a 2-0 record at "The World's Most Famous Arena."
- The 84 points scored by St. John's were the most allowed by Syracuse this season, eclipsing the 79 points scored by Georgetown against the Orange on Dec. 5. Syracuse entered the game allowing 64.1 points per contest.
- St. John's finished with five players in double-figures, the second time this season with at least five double-figure scorers. The Red Storm had six players in double-figures against Chaminade (Nov. 25).
- St. John's improved to 6-0 when leading at halftime and improved to 6-0 when shooting better than the opposition. The Red Storm also upped its record to 6-0 when outrebounding the opposition.
- St. John's drained a season-high 12 3-pointers and shot 50.0 percent (12-of-24) from distance against an Orange defense that entered the game allowing opponents to shoot just 30.4 percent from long range.
- The Red Storm also shot 49.2 percent (30-of-61) from the floor against Syracuse, which entered the game limiting opponents to just 38.2 percent shooting.
- St. John's held Syracuse to a season-low five 3-pointers made and also limited the Orange to a season-low 19.2 percent (5-of-26) effort from long distance.
- St. John's matched a season-high with 50 rebounds, tying a 50-rebound effort against Rutgers (Nov. 19).
Individual Notes - Federico Mussini matched a career-high with five 3-pointers as part of a team-high 17 point effort, the freshman's team-leading eighth double-figure game this season.
- Amar Alibegovic made a career-high three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to reach double-figures for the second time in his career, both this season. Alibegovic also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds.
- Durand Johnson made a season-high three 3-pointers and reached double-figures for the sixth time this season with a 15-point game. Johnson matched a career-high with four assists and committed zero turnovers.
- Kassoum Yakwe scored a career-high 15 points to register his first-career double-figure game. Yakwe played a career-high 23 minutes.
- Ron Mvouika finished with 10 points to reach double-figures for the fifth time this season and first time since a 12-point effort against Chaminade (Nov. 25). Mvouika also matched a career-high with five assists.
- Yankuba Sima blocked three shots, his eighth game this season with at least three swats.
