- St. John's shot 53.3 percent in the second half, the fifth-best shooting percentage for the squad in either half this season. The Red Storm has shot 50.0 percent or better in a half on six occasions this season.
- St. John's made 27 field goals, the most since making 30 baskets earlier this season against Syracuse (Dec. 13).
- The Red Storm committed just 12 turnovers in the contest, the fourth game this season with 12 or fewer miscues.
- St. John's held Creighton to just 31.8 percent (7-of-22) from long range. The Bluejays entered the game shooting a league-leading 40.1 percent from distance and making a league-high 9.3 treys per game.
Individual Notes
- Malik Ellison scored a career-high 17 points and matched a career-high with six rebounds. The freshman finished 5-of-7 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
- Durand Johnson reached double-figures for the fifth-straight game with a 14-point effort. Johnson is tied for the team-lead with 10 double-figure games this season.
- Yankuba Sima finished with 12 points to register his fifth-career double-figure game. Sima was held without a block for the first time this season.
- Playing in his first game since Dec. 13 (Syracuse), Felix Balamou made his first start of the season and totaled nine points to go with five assists.
