- St. John's won when scoring less than 50 points for the first time since a 47-46 victory against Fordham on Dec. 5, 1984.
- The 44 points scored by Niagara were the fewest allowed by St. John's since an 82-39 win against Drake on Nov. 26, 2010. The point total also marked the first time St. John's held an opponent below the 50-point mark since a 66-49 victory against Long Beach State on Dec. 22, 2014.
- The Red Storm finished with 12 blocks, matching a season-high set in the win against Saint Francis Brooklyn (Dec. 6). St. John's has totaled double-digit blocks in three games this season.
- St. John's improved to 5-0 when leading at halftime and 5-0 when shooting better than its opponent. The Red Storm also improved to 5-0 when outrebounding the opposition.
Individual Notes
- Federico Mussini finished with 11 points to lead the team in scoring for the seventh time this season. Mussini made two 3-pointers to register his fifth multi-trey game.
- Christian Jones reached double-figures for the fourth-straight game with a 10-point effort.
- Kassoum Yakwe grabbed a career-high five rebounds and also registered a career-high five blocked shots.
- Amar Alibegovic pulled down a career-high seven rebounds and also added a career-high three blocks.
- Durand Johnson went 1-of-5 from long range to finish with at least one 3-pointer for the eighth time in nine games this season.
- Yankuba Sima, the BIG EAST leader in blocks, finished with a three swats.
