Wayman Earns BIG EAST Player Of The Week Honors

QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior Robert Wayman earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors after hitting safely in all three games and batting .556 (5-for-9) with a pair of multi-hit performances in a BIG EAST series win against Villanova (April 24-26).
Wayman, who had four RBI and two runs scored, launched his first-career home run and added a double to post a 1.000 slugging percentage. The senior also walked three times to record a .667 on-base percentage.
After going 2-for-4 in the series-opener against the Wildcats, Wayman had a pinch-hit, three-run home run and finished 2-for-2 with an RBI double and a walk as part of a career-high four-RBI performance in the second game. The second baseman went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in the finale.
St. John's (24-14, 8-3) concludes a five-game homestand on April 29 with a 6 p.m. game against Iona on ESPN3.
