St. John's Athletics Celebrates 2015 Red Storm Graduates

QUEENS, N.Y. -- The St. John's University Department of Athletics celebrated the graduation of more than 50 Red Storm student-athletes and a dozen support group members on Sunday.
The Red Storm's memorable Class of 2015 earned numerous national, regional and conference-level accolades during its highly successful four years on campus. The group includes a two-time NCAA champion fencer, two men's basketball Haggerty Award winners, a unanimous softball BIG EAST Player of the Year, an individual BIG EAST men's golf champion, individual BIG EAST and ECAC track & field champions, a current professional MLS soccer player and a former professional MLB baseball player. Additionally, graduating student-athletes participated in the NCAA Tournament in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball and men's tennis, and the NCAA Championships in track & field, in addition to claiming BIG EAST team championships in softball, baseball, men's golf and men's tennis.
Outside the field of competition, members of the graduating group earned the BIG EAST Institutional Male and Female Scholar-Athlete Award, BIG EAST Postgraduate Leadership Award, were named candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, garnered Capital One Academic All-District Honors, and 30 were named to the 2013-14 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
