St. John's Dance Team Heads to Nationals this Weekend

QUEENS, N.Y. -- The St. John's Dance team will travel to Orlando, Fla., this weekend to compete in the 2016 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship.
"The team has been working extremely hard these past two months to try and win a national championship," head coach Christine McCarton said. "There are so many great teams at this competition and we love being there and feeding off the energy of the other teams."
The two-day event (Jan. 16-17) will take place at the Walt Disney Resort beginning with the semifinals on Saturday, followed by the finals on Sunday.
St. John's will be competing in both the Hip Hop and Jazz categories. Last year, the Red Storm placed third in the Hip Hop routine marking their fourth-consecutive top-10 finish and best since 2011 when St. John's earned second.
