Giorgia Walther Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Freshman earns her first conference honor
QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 22, 2021) – For the first time in her St. John's career, Giorgia Walther has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced on Monday.
The Johnnies' outside hitter was crucial in the team's play this weekend, as she led the group in kills during both matches. In a four-set victory over Providence, Walther contributed a match-high 17 kills on a .208 hitting percentage.
The next day, Walther produced 10 kills in a three-set match against Creighton.
On the weekend, the Cannobio, Italy native led the BIG EAST with 3.86 kills per set. She finishes the season ranked eighth in the BIG EAST with 210 total kills over 68 sets.
Over the course of the season, Walther recorded 16 matches with double-digit kills.
